I wish I had words for the feels I am experiencing right now. I'm going to try and be dignified and not review this 'how I want to' because that would involve probably breaking my keyboard and maybe my screen (and your screen) and this livejournal page in the process, i.e. there would be gross spazzing and marriage proposals and offers to name my firstborn - and maybe even secondborn - child after you.
I love this, I love this so much, and for very many reasons. Firstly, the obvious reason, because it's top!Baekhyun and we can barely find any fics with a top!Baekhyun these days. It's a refreshing change, not to mention hot because a bottom!Chanyeol is a hot Chanyeol, and even more so a needy!Chanyeol.
Secondly, you have characterized Baekhyun just as I see him and it's so lovely to actually see another story written in the way that I see them. I believe that Baekhyun is always the one in control and Chanyeol is so eager to please, he is so willing and he is so much more public about things that he wants - which is why I think this fic works so well, because Baekhyun isn't sure what he wants and Chanyeol knows what he wants but he's not sure how to ask for it. Chanyeol is actually a timid creature in my head - not a pushover or weak in any regards, but he is just painfully unsure about a lot of things, I think. It was so great to see Chanyeol characterized this way for a change, because a lot of people shy away from making Chanyeol vulnerable. I don't know, they see our happy giant and don't want to imagine him that way.
Thirdly, Baekhyun being the one to initiate everything was just... it was perfect for me. Because I think he would. I think there is a lot locked away to Baekhyun that we don't usually see and that includes a facet of his personality. I think he's a lot more in control of his own emotions and things he wants to go after, things he desires. So I think it worked really well in this fic because Baekhyun knows how to go after what he wants, which is why he's confused because he doesn't know what he wants but he's kinda-sorta already gone and got it.
Fourthly, I loved them working through it. I loved that they actually communicated and spoke - and I especially loved how the conversation was so broken off and unsure and it was this kind of timid communication, almost afraid to be bold. That was fantastic. I also just, ugh, I died with Chanyeol and how he asked Baekhyun to have sex with him - that was just so, so, so flawless for me. Also not to mention, hawt.
Fifthly, bringing in the makeup was just wonderful. I really appreciate when people bring up the topic of Baekhyun and his makeup in a mature way - and not trying to characterize him as some female or some overly feminine man. So really, lots of respect for handling that so well! As well as turning it into an important character theme/plot point. I also loved how Chanyeol tried to put it on in order to understand Baekhyun better. It was just, ugh, it's so perfect.
And sixthly, thank you so much for the porn ._. *no shame* It was well written, it was hot, it was just perfectly executed and I'm going to basically study how you wrote this because I'm working on my own (two) smut scenes in my own story at the moment and I'm trying to make it come across elegantly without it being crass and you've nailed that on the head. So thank you!
In conclusion, I just love you okay. Just. I want to smother you in cookies and rainbows and hugs :D Is that okay.
