Ughhh I love the distinction you drew between Kai and Jongin, how Kai is sparkle and show and so naughty it’s nice, and that’s how he catches you; how he catches everyone. Kai is the Teaser King, and the Dancing Machine, and the one who licks his lips and wipes them clean with his thumb, and expects you to like it. and Jongin just makes tiny hearts with his hands, and smiles hesitantly, and hopes it’s enough. because that's so precisely him/them(?) irl. The dissonance between his onstage self and his off-camera self has always baffled me, because normally that kind of stage presence is something other idols could take years to grow into. It's just like, when did he even practice all these things??
What I love most is ballet dancer!Jongin though. I've always wanted a ballet AU. ;~; I love all the little details and stories about how he first fell in love with ballet, how he got his first shoes, etc. I just love ballet dancer!Jongin a lot. ;~; Lately sometimes when I watch a ballet, I'd think about how he'd be on a stage like that, dancing for the music and the applause instead of the screaming and the camera flashes. I wonder if he's still a little in love with ballet, and how he feels about the difference between a ballet dancer and an... idol dancer??
