it's so friggin full of UST and unexplored angles and sharp edges, and when you read it sometimes it fills you up inside, and sometimes it cuts you up and leaves you raw and aching and bleeding, and not knowing, in the end, how it's going to end up is a RUSH. It can leave you shattered and then piece you fragily back together, and its tentative optimism males you believe in the power of forgiveness and in the power of reconcilliation.
I think I need to frame this. Because yes, yes, it perfectly encapsulates what I love about akame. I've said this before somewhere but for the longest time I could only read Kame in other pairings but reading Jin in other pairings made everything hurt in a strange way. But *your* Pin doesn't do that because it doesn't cast Kame as this neurotic, lizard-faced, vengeful outsider but rather as someone who is merely on a different wavelength, a benign, stable presence. A lot of times I see akame and pin juxtaposed as if either cannot exist without the enmity of the other: like if pin are together they both hate Kame or if akame are together there's jealousy. And that kind of corrosive emotion just tears me apart.
I love how you describe the abject fear and aching in Pin of messing up a long time friendship (I'm a sucker for friends falling in love stories, but I realize akame haven't been what one would call best friends for a long time). Suffice to say, if you write it I will read it, and most likely love it. :)))
